COVID-19 UPDATE

Updated: 11 July 2020, 18:30

With the dual announcements recently that churches may re-open for private prayer already and for public worship in ealy July, we are currently working through the advice and guidance which has been published to ensure that when we open - which we are not yet able to do as building work is ongoing (see below) - we will do so safely. As specific guidance on services hasn't yet been issued, we expect to make an announcement on Sunday 12 July about when services might begin again.

All Sunday and midweek services in church remain suspended until further notice. All other groups will also cease to meet in person for the time being too.

However, we've not stopped being the church just because our building is closed. We are streaming daily prayer and Sunday services on Facebook:

Daily prayer at our sister church's page:

Sunday worship on our own page:

You can also see recent services below.

If you're here because you've seen some of our streamed services and want to know more, welcome! If there is anything we can do to help, maybe there are questions this site doesn't answer, please do contact the Rector: richard@allsaintsnewtownlinford.org.uk

See news page for more.

Eco Church

Despite the current closure of the church building, we are delighted to announce that we have been presented with the Eco Church Bronze award by A Rocha. This is testament to the hard work put in primarily by Jane Woolmer and reflects initiatives in both practical and spiritual aspects of church life.

Church renovation

20 June 2020: Work continues, a major milestone reached this past week as the scaffolding came down. Until completion - now expected at the beginning of July - no-one other than the contractors is allowed to access the building.

23 May 2020: Good news, as the government and Church of England have both updated their advice about construction work, the renovation is about to resume. The building remains closed to all other use, in some ways even more firmly closed, due to the health and safety precautions in place to mitigate infection risk.

30 March 2020: unfortunately the works in the church building have had to be paused - while they are important to us, they do not count as 'essential' in this time of national emergency. We look forward to them resuming when possible, and for re-worked plans for a great celebratory re-opening and resumption of worship.
